Brigham’s Piano Blog
For our Friday night date last weekend, I got to deliver this piano with Brigham. I don’t always hear the stories and meet the customer’s since I’m usually at home and Brigham greets the customers at the shop. So it was fun for me to meet Suzanne and Alex and hear their piano story.
Suzanne came to our piano store back in early December and fell in love with this piano, with her daughter Alex in mind. The repairs hadn’t even been started on it, but she had great faith in Brigham’s work to feel confidant with its outcome. So Brigham got to work and Alex got a “piano lamp” for her Christmas surprise with a delivery date promised soon to follow. She had been playing on a digital piano that she had long since outgrown.
After we got the piano delivered and into place, Suzanne asked Brigham to explain to Alex all of the work and repairs that he had done to get the piano ready for her (hence the long video of Brigham telling all about it). Then after Brigham plays it a bit, video 2 shows Alex getting her turn to play and then having some fun with a friend as well. I’m not sure if you can see it on the video or not but it was touching when Suzanne got a bit emotional as soon as Alex sat down to play. It is so fun to make these piano deliveries and to share a moment in someones lives that is so wonderful. The gift of music! A piano is a gift that keeps giving. Thanks for sharing your piano story with us Suzanne and Alex.

This newly released Hillary Weeks video is AMAZING!!! Featuring local blogger Nie Nie. Directed by our good friend Jed Wells, who came to our piano shop to chose a piano. Brigham said pick anything you want and he chose what you see in the video… he’s got vision! Watch out… it might make you cry & smile at the same time (at least it did for me). BEAUTIFUL!

We got an e-mail this week sharing the fun story of how a young family enjoyed their new piano surprise with their children for Christmas. I love that the piano was hid and saved for the big Christmas surprise! Here’s the e-mail we received,
We purchased a black upright piano from you about a month ago and surprised our kids for Christmas. It was a little tricky sneaking the piano up the stairs on Christmas Eve but the kids slept through it and had no idea. They love it!! They have been playing it non-stop for two days.
Thanks for helping us have enjoyable Christmas.

Congratulations to Laurie Ellington…
…who won our impromptu drawing for a free tuning. She was one of many who contributed a comment to the recent article in the paper on Brigham Larson Pianos. Here’s what Laurie had to say,
What a great article! And it is so nice to have a piano store in Pleasant Grove. I also really applaud your decision to give pianos away. I am a piano teacher and have had Brigham tune my piano several times. He also did a complete regulation of my piano. The difference was astounding! I have a Young Chang grand piano and it sounds and feels perfect after Brigham worked on it. I have referred several of my students to him and will continue to do so. I would recommend him to anyone! Thanks, Brigham.
Thank you Laurie! We appreciate our loyal customers and the on-going support. Enjoy the free tuning…

We are interested to hear your comments, stories, memories of our business, experiences having Brigham in your homes, hearing him play, attending our concert series, etc. We’ll do a drawing from all of the comments made on the article at noon tomorrow to give away a free tuning. We are so grateful to all of the clients and friends who have been so loyal and supportive, helping our business to grow with referrals, free business advice and encouragement over the years. We’d love to hear from you. Hope you are enjoying the holiday break with your families and finding those meaningful moments gathered around the piano.

Brigham played with the amazing and talented Thrillionaires, to a sold out crowd at the Covey Center for the Performing Arts last night. It was a delightfully witty, Dickens style Christmas improvised musical. I’ve attached a playlist of some of the songs and scenes. Enjoy!
Thrillionaires will be playing each first Friday at our piano hall as part of our 2012 concert series beginning in February.

Brigham had a reporter accompany him on a tuning yesterday and then back to the piano shop to photograph some action voicing and shop work. Brigham, our business story and concert series are going to be the Monday front page feature story on the 26th! So watch for us… we’d love to hear your comments, support and feedback on the article. If you don’t get the paper, you can view it on-line at www.heraldextra.com.

We spent the first part of our Friday night date working on this piano… I was amazed at the pile of Q-tips on the floor after we finished cleaning and shining up the interior. Brigham did the exterior touch up on Saturday and is going to do the action work this week.
It was a trade in that we received last week. We’ll post a video soon. It’s a 5’4 Black Wurlitzer grand. It’ll be under $5,000… Brigham hasn’t given me a final price yet. He always likes to finish all of the regulation, voicing, tuning, cleaning, etc. before he decides on a price. Watch for a video & price next week…
