Q-tip Clean!

We spent the first part of our Friday night date working on this piano… I was amazed at the pile of Q-tips on the floor after we finished cleaning and shining up the interior.  Brigham did the exterior touch up on Saturday and is going to do the action work this week.

It was a trade in that we received last week.  We’ll post a video soon.  It’s a 5’4 Black Wurlitzer grand.  It’ll be under $5,000… Brigham hasn’t given me a final price yet.  He always likes to finish all of the regulation, voicing, tuning, cleaning, etc. before he decides on a price.  Watch for a video & price next week…

We Recommend John Sampson For Players

We don’t claim to be the best expert in every area of piano technology… one of those areas is player pianos! If you have an old player that needs some work, may we recommend our colleague John Sampson, (801) 347-7930. We had him come to our shop recently to take care of the player part on a piano that we fully refurbished. Brigham took care of his expertise and John took care of the player. It was delivered back to the customer just in time for a great reaction at her surprise birthday party!

Here’s a video of John at work in our shop. Enjoy the music…

We’ll take it… FOR FREE!

Today Brigham got a call from a woman who’s mother had just died and she was beginning to clean out their home and figuring out what to do with all of their belongings.  The old piano pictured above was one item that she needed to get rid of but wasn’t in any condition to be sold.  So she called Brigham to see how much he would charge to remove it for her.  She was thrilled to learn that he would come and take it for FREE (especially considering that it was down some stairs as well… that would normally cost extra for a professional moving service).

A win-win… now we have another piano project waiting in line in our warehouse and this nice lady is one step closer to getting her parent’s belongings taken care of at no charge to her.

Sooooo-if it’s not worth selling and you want to get rid of it:  We’ll take it FOR FREE!  I happen to know a very good technician who is an expert at resurrecting old pianos that seem fit only for a junkyard or spare parts.  (well, to be honest a few really are good only for parts!)

A day in the shop…

I captured this short video the other day to give a view of daily happenings at our shop. Below the video is a quick summary for those who don’t have 2 minutes for the video (though I think it’s much more fun to see the action)!

  • See David and Austin using the automatic crane lift to lower the new pianos out of the semi and bring them into the shop
  • Listen and watch as the player specialist works on the player system of an older upright that Brigham was contracted to fully refurbish
  • Sweet 3 year old Briggy Jr. lets us know that this is “his shop” not dad’s! (of course… it’s Brigham’s shop and he’s Brigham Jr.–makes sense)
  • Tim does action prep on an upright being refurbished
  • Brigham opens up the box of our newly delivered Hailun Action model delivered with our new pianos.

Welcome to Brigham’s Piano Shop

We are a new kind of piano store to fit the needs of the piano buyer in this ever shifting economy of ours. Since we are selling from “the home front rather than a store front”, we can keep our prices far below what you might find at a traditional piano store.

In this video, you can go for a tour with Brigham as he takes you through his piano shop and our home to help you know what to expect when you come have a look at pianos.

Soundboard Replacement

The above photo is a blast from the past… a photo I took of Brigham replacing his first soundboard in a grand.  This was taken back in the pre-blogging days, so I thought I’d just slip it in for old times sake.  We’ve come along way since then!!
