We got an e-mail this week sharing the fun story of how a young family enjoyed their new piano surprise with their children for Christmas.  I love that the piano was hid and saved for the big Christmas surprise!  Here’s the e-mail we received,

We purchased a black upright piano from you about a month ago and surprised our kids for Christmas.  It was a little tricky sneaking the piano up the stairs on Christmas Eve but the kids slept through it and had no idea.  They love it!! They have been playing it non-stop for two days.

What a great article! And it is so nice to have a piano store in Pleasant Grove. I also really applaud your decision to give pianos away. I am a piano teacher and have had Brigham tune my piano several times. He also did a complete regulation of my piano. The difference was astounding! I have a Young Chang grand piano and it sounds and feels perfect after Brigham worked on it. I have referred several of my students to him and will continue to do so.  I would recommend him to anyone! Thanks, Brigham.

Piano_Place_Mat

You may have seen Brigham’s truck driving around with our old logo of the piano tuning hammer.  Well… it was time to update and here is the new official logo of Brigham’s Piano Service.

It’s gigging season and you might see Brigham at an event, wedding or park playing with the Paul Burnside Band or in a jazz trio.  He’s the only professional jazz musician in UT that we know of who takes a real piano to each gig.  He used to take a digital piano.  A few years ago, he decided that it was worth the effort to just bring the real deal and play on a nice piano.  So he loads up his Yamaha U3 gigging piano into his trailer and heads off to gigs.  People are amazed that he’s bringing a real piano… but for him, it’s no problem.  He’s used to moving pianos all of the time and just touches up the tuning while he waits for the gig to begin.

Occasionally, Brigham will have a late work night to finish up a project to meet a deadline.  On one such night, Brigham Jr. wanted to be with his dad the whole time.  He wouldn’t give up and go to bed despite his exhaustion.  Finally, he just curled up in his spider man blanket and decided he’d sleep right next to dad….  The moment begged for photography.   Our little Briggy likes to tell everyone that it is “his” piano shop because he is “Brigham” and it’s “Brigham’s” Piano Shop.  We don’t argue with him!
