So this is us having a little “too much fun” at the National Convention this summer. One of the women in the national office, suggested that we make Joshie his own name tag since he was such a little mascot of the convention. As she got to printing it, she had options such as “affiliate member”, “spouse”, “RPT” (Registered Piano Technician), “vendor”, etc. She laughed and said that he didn’t fit any of them but that she thought that “WEE-PT” was closest to “RPT” like his dad and so she would put that on his name tag. So for the rest of the convention, Joshua entertained everyone and solicited quite a few comments with his “WeePT” name tag.
Here’s a video of him getting his “first tuning hammer” in the vendor hall. He was a good traveling companion!!

At the 2010 National Piano Technician’s Guild Convention, Brigham received training from Don Manino. After class, Brigham took the opportunity to ask Don to explain why regulation is necessary to maintain a piano over the course of its lifetime. Listen to the above video clip to see how Don uses a grand action model to explain the essential nature of piano regulation in addition to basic tuning maintenance.
Brigham would be happy to evaluate your piano if you think it has been awhile since it was properly regulated. To read more about regulation, click here.
