Brigham’s Piano Blog
Brigham tunes all types, ages, styles and varieties of pianos all over Utah County and Salt Lake County. The following kind note was attached to an e-mail correspondence recommending him from a long time Steinway Piano owner.
“Brigham does an awesome job. He has kept my pianos – including my Steinway in tune for years!” Denise Roney- Provo, UT
Thanks Denise for your loyalty and kind recommendation! We appreciate our great clients!

Thayne got to tag along with Dad this morning as they met the trucker delivering a Kawai for us to add to our gallery of uprights for sale. The truck driver let Thayne ride in the crane that he uses for lifting and moving pianos inside the trailer. Thayne was in HEAVEN! He begs his dad to wake him up and take him with him for these early morning piano pick ups!

The Knabe grand piano in the band room at Orem High had been neglected for quite a few years. The current band teacher there is turning that around, though. He had me restring it last year, and this year he’ll likely have me put on new hammers and do a full action regulation. It’s been fun to watch the piano transform.

Yesterday was Brigham’s birthday. He worked of course! We had a nice family dinner after work though and here is a photo of his favorite gift from his father. This is our son Ben, who thought it was very cool to have orange ratchet straps for a present gift wrap! Brigham uses these every time he moves a piano. -Karmel

This was a very satisfying job. This 1970′s era Kawai was absolutely filthy! It had been moved all over the country and it had been through many children (her own as well as many that she has taught over the years). It was even left uncovered during month of a home addition. The dirt and grime was caked on! I take enormous pleasure in a job like this one. -Brigham

This was a piano resurrection in every way! Just a few days ago, this piano was in shambles. It had been in someone’s garage for many years, then in their living room as a useless but pretty furniture piece. It had broken strings, 6 missing hammers and shanks, missing key tops, many, many broken action parts, non-functioning and broken pedals, all front rail punchings missing (more…)

The hammers on this Samick baby grand were deeply grooved and very uneven. Taking the string cuts/grooves out of the hammers is the first step to significantly improving the tone of the piano. Leveling the hammer line (including raising them to the ideal distance from the strings) is one step in creating the proper touch. It also improves touch consistency from one note to the next. The above picture was taken after I reshaped the hammers but before I leveled the hammer line. Below is after I leveled the hammer line. -Brigham

A few days ago, we saw an ad posted on KSL for trading housekeeping for piano tuning. That was a great trade idea for us since we just had baby #5 and a little extra help with cleaning would be GREAT! Today, our house was cleaned from top to bottom and Brigham tuned our cleaner’s piano. Trade works so well! Call us if you have an idea for trade and we’d be happy to consider anything. Here’s a list of some things that we’d be interested in doing trade for:
Babysitting
Plumbing
Electrical
Gift Certificates
Musical Intruments
Furniture: Bookshelves, couches, dining table, bunk beds, dressers
More house cleaning of course
Get creative and tell us your idea!
